Hi all,
Iv got a rear main leak, after taking the plate off the back of the motor I noticed a groove in my crank.
Is this standard for a car with 140,000ks?
Is this something that has to be rectified before installing the new plate and seal?

Cheers
Scott

hard to see much of the groove , if in doubt install a speedy sleeve over the crank shaft to restore a flat even surface for the seal to run on .

Thanks, any idea what size sleeve I need?
The grove is the black line closest to the block, I can just feel it with my nail.

its normal for a small groove to appear as this is where the seal lip has been running , if its a minor groove then dont worry to much install new plate and seal .
