Hi guys. Recently got an wh stato haven't had it for long and have been stitched up with overheating issues. Originally had a leaking heater tap (due to rotted out feed hose end) have since replaced and clean out the hoses. Still the car overheats, basically you take it for a spin for 20mins, whilst out you give it a poke with a stick basically. And come back home let it idle, or even just low speeds and the temp will just keep climbing till it starts to cook. Iam not loosing coolant, the thermo fans are working, have removed the thermostat entirely, flushed the system and have replaced the radiator cap, all seems to be ok, accept it still overheats.

I have not pressure tested the system, and by the looks off it, the car has already had the water pump and radiator replaced although not by me but they look new. The return hose to the coolant bottle is circulating coolant so it would seem the pump is working and the radiator is undamaged and not clogged as coolant did flush threw.

Any ideas to help nutt this issue out? Next step will have to be pressure test but other that im kind off at my witts end.

Kind regards.

parts looking new doesn't mean new, that's why they sell paint cans, many previous owners have done dodgy things to cars trying to save cash.
Yes go get a radiator check, other parts/stuff don't matter if its blocked or stuffed, before doing that just do a simple new radiator cap swap either higher or lower pressure and see if that changes the situation.

Did u bleed all the air out? Is the cap sealing, any hoses look like they are sucked in..

Sorry for the late reply.

Got a leak test done and pressure tested the cooling system all came up ok so definetly no leaks and head gasket is fine. Have since replaced the radiator. Tested car on very hot day (50°C). Car didn't overheat, temp gauge got as far as 3/4 off the way up and that was after basically thrashing it then letting it idle in the sun. Only thing now is the coolant level light is now on after I moved the reseviour, dare say sensor or wiring issue but nothing major. Anyway thanks for your help and advice hopefully this thread will help someone else in the future.
Kind regards Shane.
