Hi guys, ive got a WH V8 T56 currently and have a opportunity to get a cheap WK v6 auto stato. what im wondering is what is required, and will it all just transfer over

can i put my motor, gearbox, tailshaft and diff from WH into the WK?

what else will be needed, will i need to change wiring looms or will my PCM plug straight in, then just need a tech 2 to link them?

another interesting question ..has it ever been attempted

lets see you are doing a gearbox and motor conversion at the same time
thats a lot of work
lots to swap in the engine bay

pedals /clutch master / etc
/diff/ brakes/ steering/suspension / might need twigging
will it have airbags/ srs /cruise/
engine mangement computer to run V8
bem pcm etc looms fuses might be a challenge ...prob have tech 2 handy
dont know about petrol pump and tank variants
radiator would swap
floor console

my WH has a walbro pump so was thinking i could just drop the whole tank from wh and put on WK, im thinking they are the same chassis and most parts will transfer over, my concern is wiring side. From what i can tell a WK just has some cosmetic differences to WH and are virtually the same car. i understand i'll need clutch pedal from WH and gearbox leather boot from VY and radiator radiator from wh, just need help understanding what i'll need in terms of electrics? thanks

never too serious about some things

electrical .. yes you will need a tech 2

need some time ... to look up engine bay wiring of the WK
to see if you can use the V6 loom to plug in the WH stuff needed to run the V8

anyway this what the V8 WK engine bay looks like ..its sweet

The LS1s have a PIM (powertrain interface module) which converts data between the PCM and the car's other modules (BCM, instrument cluster, ABS etc), because they talk different languages. It lives behind the passenger kick panel IIRC. You'll need to swap this over, along with a bunch of wiring. I'm not sure if the WK BCM will talk to or even plug in to the WH PIM and wiring...
