Just opened another of the choc orange porter , first bottle must have had an old lid that didn't fully retain gas / seal .
Swish it around in your mouth you can taste the choc more , very easy to taste the orange . Hopefully it will improve over the next few weeks.
For me my stout is still my best so far .
Here's a photo of that pirate life stout

Was told that it would be best for my health if I did not drink alcohol anymore.. I used to love a drop, just a bit! Anyways, we visit China annually and have taken a liking to Chinese tea, good Chinese tea, hence have pretty well substituted one for the other. The box of tea pictured was a gift, and goes for around $AUD500 a kg. Definitely not worth that much, but with the packaging, the "face" that goes with such a gift, nothing can cost enough.. They're funny like that. Anyways, a mate of my wife's gave us this box, and the tea is supurb. No milk or sugar, and like any Chinese tea, the pot can be filled as many times as you want, even the next day! It does not stew. Add a couple of Anzacs, fresh out of the oven... yeah, a lot of things have changed since I gave up drinking. As well as drinking tea, I now bake... Could be worse..

Yeah I think the brand enjoyed success on the back of the independent brew movement. The paradox is these fake pirates lost their anti-establishment rule-breaking craftiness, sold their sorry arses after eighteen months of b-grade cosplay and swindle.
Hardly anything piratey about working for the largest brewing empire the world, scurvy dogs!

Have to say but personally because I'm still thinking of/ remembering the sweet very chocolatey, Empress, it is my favorite of the two.

We are planning a cook out for our 4th of July, the day we say F-You to the crown. To satisfy the bitches, got 2 bottles of this. Is not the best, but after drinking some home brew, eating stakes and othet Yumm-Yumms, who gives a damn.

Yes, that is the garage fridge, where I keep my stash, Stolichnaya is in the freezer.

There are some flavors that should be kept away from beer, Coffee is one of them.

Been going the no sugar option on the mixed drinks. 400kj instead of about 1000kj per drink.

So far sampled (mike Literous homeowner rating out of 10 compared to normal non sugar options)
    bundy (8.7)
    Wild turkey 101 (9.1)
    Jack Daniel (7.8).

Have not tried the Jim beam as yet. Any other sugar free options ?

The wife spoted this fermented grape juice. If you cannot sell the crappy wine, all you need is some clever advertisement.

Well, the wife bought 2 bottles. Also comes with an application called Living Wine Lables (download it). You use the pic on the label like you are going to snap the pic with the App. The Zombie comes alive, if you have 2 bottles, they fight with each other. Too close and will crack the phone screen.

I think it might work with this pic.

Well, we tried with 2 phones, it works.

    What an ingenious gag :)

Hey Mr Monstar... get some Pirate theme on one.

Just fridged and cracked a bottle of my passionfruit IPA , it's 8 weeks mature compared to just under 4 weeks for the keg . Compared the two, the more mature is noticeably sweeter and nicer. Now I know why my brother in law said last week that he'd wished I'd sent up a couple of bottles instead of just one.
I still figure I'll try and tweak it when I do it again.

If you like big rich Belgian style beers .and whiskey you'll absolutely love this limited beer.
    The flavors are sensational.

We are in Costa Rica at Baldi Hot Springs Hotel and Resort. Got me a very light Spanish beer from Barcelona. Is a rice brew, very light, with a light Malt after taste. Is a decent lawnmower brew.

Also they brew their own beer. This Pale Ale is a bit on the hoppy side.

Last night we went to a local restaurant. Ordered a nice Rib Eye Stake, medium well and the national Costa Rican brew, Imperial. Not a bad brew and better that Corona to be honest.

Found out last week that feral had brought out a new limited release beer and bottleo was getting it in . The weeks wait was more than worth it . Got a 4 pack, very nice, (need to find out how I can make a porter similar to this.

Also got two other beers. This is one of them although for me not quite as nice as the feral dark matter which is smoother, richer, more chocolatey and milky.

Well, this one is a bust. Bavaria Dark, wery light, water-down feel, flavorless piss water. No bueno.

Supposedly this one is the stronger brew in Costa Rica according to the bartender. To me is similar to Imperial, is a blond, medium to light. Is alright for a cheap brew.

Time to head back home. We stopped at the Hard Rock Café in San José, Costa Rica. Got me a nice Mojito and loaded with Rum Flor de Caña.
