Nice, can't beat a 12 plus year old single malt. Best I ever had was Glen Turrent 24 yr old , dam that was smooth Or a drink you really like and the surprise you've got more than you think, ( for me my stout) , thought it would run out Thursday night, ( it didn't ) , was thinking only about 100ml left , a schooner now and still going , although surely can't be much left now.
... indeed! we were in Glasgow and the next direction was north west to Skye And on the Isle of Skye we dropped into Talisker.... nice drop that ! and then coming back a couple of days later having been to Glenfiddan (Harry Potter country)Lock Awe, Eileen Donan Castle and Loch Ness, stopped in Fort Augustus to get fuel and I asked the servo attendant the best way to Edinburgh NOT back via the way we came, the A82 main road north. She said, do a leftie at Spean Bridge and first follow the signs for Perth. You will enjoy the views of the highlands she said ... she was not wrong, you come over the mountains behind the Dalwhinnie distillery This gives you some idea of our travels... the area I am talking
Nice, was over there in the early 90s , would love to back again , maybe one day , trouble is I say that about most places I go for a holiday and still lots more where I haven't been and some I'll probably never get to . And now thinking about it, I just have have one these.
Also recently discovered the 'UnTappd' app (well behind the times i know). Turns out i've tried several hundred types of beers over the years
Settling down with a couple of these malty/chocolate beauties to watch the Wallabies get another Bledisloe Cup hiding, I should cocoa!
Aways ment to say way back when first sore , need to try this . Also now spring is with us makes me think looking at this, a really nice place to enjoy a beer or two.
So after a day of showers on and off , end of day suns out, quite warm, so this is quite appropriate style of beer. Don't totally know or agree with the description, I love this sort of beer ( although not for everyone or even lots) , don't think it's that dry . Pink grapefruit in it , don't know that it's really a coincidence but my latest homebrew ( went in fermenter last Sunday) is a pink grapefruit ipa with some lactose for that cloudy/ milky finish (hopefully ), dry hops go in tomorrow or Sunday and I 'll bottle it next weekend. It won't be this big , still about 5.9 / 6.0 % and won't be this sour Oh , and listening to a few tunes. Oh yeah forgot to say , another great beer from across the ditch, on ya NZ.
Now Dainton's Fruit Punch, very nice (dare I say a normal fruity bitter ipa) , but just seems normal after Haterale's , which is sweeter and sour ( I know that sounds weird) more different more me. And more tunes.
My own homebrew MORGAN'S Pacific Pale Ale and 50/50 Brew Blend with El Dorado & Calypso hops A nice light summery sort of beer, a little sweet with a bit of bite For a perfect early spring day
My bourbon barrel strong ale, 2.5 weeks mature, ( can't wait, ( oh I have to ) see what it's like in a few more weeks). Has some bourbon flavor and tastes like a fairly rich/strong ale , but not heavy (I don't think anyway ), not for what it is , so fairly easy to drink quite a few and really nock you around at 7.7% Anyway I think I'm on a winner ( for me it's extremely nice)and will definitely be making this again as certainly while it's still a little cooler I don't think it's going to last long. How many beers can you say have plenty of flavor , are 7.7%, you love and can easily drink and only cost approximately $55 for 12.75 liters , plus a bit of effort, (well it's not a huge effort, a little bit of time making and if you're really keen to try alot of patience).
If you like a nice strong ale with flavor =yes . More than happy with how it turned out , really like it , although I just followed the instructions with this one ,unlike some ,which have been uniquely mine .
