currently on a regulation break , so a triple shot flat white , parked up in a rest stop , watching traffic barrel pass .

Some days I just want to throw in the towel and come join you on the open road...

In the mean time, something strong is on the cards, maybe a double espresso.... :)

With some of the driving on the road sometimes I wonder if I’ve done the right thing

Your not wrong and it's getting worse. Last week I had a fully loaded truck and trailer unit blow through a give way in front of me. Fortunately I saw him and his mate coming. He had no intention of stopping, doubt he could have as it was wet on a down hill slope and I bet I was racing with his mate in front. Felt like something strong when I got home.

.. went to Scotland last year

re-ignited a taste for fine single malt scotch
so when I came home, I kept an eye out for specials
(been buying up!)
15yo Talisker
20yo Glendronach
12yo Cragganmore
12yo Glenmorangie
10yo ARRAN
16yo Lagavulin
OBAN Little Bay (cost me a kidney that)
12yo Aberfeldy ( a surprise that one... rather taken by me)
and
from the journey from Spean Bridge to Edinburgh (the long way)
way..way out in the highlands we came over a ridge (see pic below)
.. and went, what the hell is that? In the bottom of a valley, miles from anywhere
is a big white building... Dalwhinnie*
Dalwhinnie Highland 15YO Single Malt Scotch Whisky

15yo Dalwhinnie is just, just.. superb

and I have a wee glass of that right now.. taken with a little chilled distilled water

Down in Houston TX we stopped at a place called Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen, the original 1st stablishment. Got me this nice Amber Lager from Abita Brewing from Louisiana. Nice crisp and cramalized afertaste to go with my order of Blacken Catfish, Oysters, Crab Cakes and Shrimp.

It's that time of the year, again, so any new brews or plonk to rave about?

I still have some home made brew from last year. Got me some nice Bombay Gin and Cinzano Vermouth for some nice Martinis. The other stash is case of Rioja wines. Nothing fancy or new this year.

I bought a bottle of Canberra distillers gin bloody nice stuff.
I'll list some beers here over time as my local guy gets new brews every day.

Drinking a Bacchus Brewing Brewcastle Brown atm which is a Newcastle Brown remake. Heaps better than the real one.
I've got a Sauce Brewing Mosalaxy juicy IPA and a Sailors Grave Brewing Harvest Ale to drink too.
