Still waiting for a build date - expecting late Jan to early Feb (unless they can find a silver manual floating around with the 20's already on it. Everything else is a dealer fit).

Picked up a black VF I SS auto two weeks ago . Police pack (has 2 batteries and whatever else they get). Ex demo (1000km)

42K. 25k with 2012 SV6 as trade in. Best part of all didn't cost me a cent. Company car :)

At the 7:00 mark he says that the redline costs 75K. What's going on with that? He must have meant 55K.

Perhaps it's a special NZ horn so as not to frighten the sheep.

Cost cutting by Holden. Now only 1 horn instead of 2. Not sure about VF1 but VE had 2 (and very loud). Must save at least a couple of bucks on every car!!!!!!!!!!!

    More likely a few cents.
I'm actually a bit surprised by the cost-cutting that's happened even since the VF's release; I'd have thought that making a variation in the production-line wouldn't make it worthwhile doing stuff like redesigning the keyless-entry door-handles to have no chrome on them. I'm not saying I'm a fan of the chrome door-handle inlays (quite the opposite), but it seems an odd choice to delete them for cost-cutting reasons only part-way through a model run (and only 2 years before production ends).
Other things I'd suspect to have saved more cash; using the same seats in pretty-much all Commodores, rather than having fancy bolstered ones in the Redline, for example.

Just checked the Holden NZ website. Based on an Auckland postcode, the RRP for the SS-V is NZ$70,490, and for the SS-V Redline is NZ$75,990. On the positive side, they don't charge you any extra if you choose a colour other than Heron White! :)

I don't know (never looked) how many horns my VF1 Calais V has, but I do know it's loud enough to make me jump 3 feet in the air when I'm standing next to the car in the garage and I've done something stupid like trying to lock it with the engine running! (I know, don't ask.) Seems loud enough on the road, too.

I guess it all adds up. No underbody plastic panels on VFs. Cut out DVD/CD, cup holders in back, flex fuel sensors etc etc.

Don't forget - cutting a part from production doesn't just save the cost of the part, it saves the cost of all processes involved in manufacturing and installation too.

It could also have more to do with the supplier than it does with Holden itself.

went to a Melbourne dealership today to see a black ssvr wagon vf2 brand new. was told 58990 drive away price but can do around 58000 including full black kit and etc.
    is it a good deal?
sales man told me holden doesn't make wagon body so it's very hard to find new wagons around. I was think about somewhere around 55000

If I hear that one more time,...omg. The "black kit" is nothing more than a swap of parts that should have been included in the first place! All the "black kit" is available on eBay far cheaper, from the fenders, to the badges, to the window linings, to the handles...even the Transmission surrounds, which literally blinds me every morning when the sun comes in and it reflects into my eyes. I don't know who tested the cars initially, but they must have been wearing dark shades to not notice the magnification of sun.

My car looked like a relic from a bad 1980's drive in movie, with so much metal that I had great pleasure in removing it ALL! Including the 80's bling SS on the side. There was no option then, and I blasted Holden, just stupid.

Yes a white one and months ago, I was told there are 4 vf redlinr wagons available a week ago, 2white, one silver and one black.. wagons are I think a 4k premium over the sedan, even though you actually get less ( sunroof, and Bose system)
