Yesterday I decided to make a coolant and oil catch containers from the Jerry cans I used for all the fuel when doing the crewman fuel tank.

I’ve long been annoyed with not being able to catch old oil without making a mess and the oil pan is never big enough.

Obsolete pan.
Messy to pour out.

It’s the same height as my old round oil pan, just holds a lot mor

I might add some volume marks with a soldering iron at some point.

One coolant and one oil. The third I’m going to use for temporary old fluid before decanting into smaller containers as they become available. There’s not always one around.

I then added some hooks on the side of the garage cabinet with some rivnuts. Perfect

I have spent the last two weeks cleaning out my double garage as we will be moving out soon:)
We never parked a car in this garage for over five years of being here, I’m sure you might imagine why. The tools and stuff I have accumulated over the years would fill an Aldi store I’m sure.
I know you die hard car lovers would move heaven and earth to find room in your garages for your beloved cars, but I could never seem to make the room for a car given my collection of building tools and the like, and to be honest I felt the Commodore was a lot safer in the drive way rather than my missus trying to drive it in between the opening and then having to reverse it out again:)

So I’ve always had these fold away shelves on the side of my tool chest. Never use them because it’s too heavy to move around.

So I added them to the ikea trolley.

Some M5 nutserts.

folded down flat.

The end result.

Then I thought it would be good to hang the power tools I’m using off it. So I bent up some aluminium rod to make a hanger for them.

This is the trolley. Cheap enough. Strong. Does the job as good as something with Sidchrome on it. Would recommend to anyone for the garage.
