Drove the sedan out of the garage, wired in the new head unit. Gave up on installing it completely.
Checked the wagons ECU part number for Nigel.
    Drove the wagon.

Modified another VQ drivers glovebox for the stato to match the berlina. Even got the local paint place to mix up some plastic paint to match it to the rest of the car.

Here is the bit I removed from the glovebox piece it shows the color difference uploadfromtaptalk1365767786574.jpg

And here is the painted glovebox next to the original fusebox cover uploadfromtaptalk1365767818308.jpg

Found out the excessively loud 'clicking' noise i keep hearing from my engine bay seems to be the EVAP solenoid.. i thought it was the fuel injectors or so.. but nope, EVAP Solenoid.

Changed the throttle return spring to a softer one. Still harder than stock. Oh so smooth now.

    Washed and shammy car

Mixed some turtle wax nano polish, fireglaze and nupolish together and applied to car.

Whilst waiting to dry to a haze, cleaned interior and garage

Then wiped down car with polishing cloth. Came out great.

Re seated number plate globe light.

Put it back into the garage, pulled the console apart. Ran an aux and a USB cable from the back of the head unit to my centre console, so I can listen to songs and charge my phone without having cords running everywhere.

Sounds like you have the ignition and constant battery wire around the wrong way. Or you have the constant battery wire and ignition wire both hooked up to ignition

waiting for it to crush the old man as he believes the jack that came with it is a safe way to prop it up for extended periods of time while working under it.

don't worry I told him its extremely unsafe in the way he has it.
doesn't want to listen to my solution as to how to fix it to be safer (proper stands, which we do have).
his problem now, I tried to help him

and this is after I told him, I don't want him to fix it, as I know what the problem is (thanks to dirb)
and itll just be easier to get the mech to do it when it goes in and is up on a proper hoist.
Its the Reverse switch in a manual Gearbox for the record.
