Aviation sealant is a much better option. Seals as well and easily removable.

They are actually designed for no sealant as it is a crush style gasket but this becomes cement-like over time.

First DIY oil change for this car no more cap price servicing or warranty.
Oil, filter, air filter and pollen filter changed. $500 at the dealer-yeah right.

I'm rebuilding my VS Ute, so I Jacked the ute up at the rear, took the wheels off and pulled out the shocks, checked the suspension over, need new rear bump stops also. Fitted the body parts since I primed them last weekend and bough some filters and oil for her.

I’ve been noticing some radiator coolant dropping out of the Crewie over the last few days but haven’t been able to find the reason. I put about a litre of water in, and off to the radiator shop for a pressure test, where they found a small split up the top. So, a new radiator for next week.
I’m glad it didn’t happen about a month ago when I tripping around Backabuggery which is Toyota country, and Holden radiators can’t be found at the local servos anymore.

After talking rear suspension stuff earlier, (made me think of the monaro) and being such a nice day , instead of doing project stuff like I should have took said monaro for what I intended to be a blast and in the end was just a nice relaxing cruise with just a few foot down moments for that giggle/ smile factor.
Oh and went to Big w and got this , yeah not a VS or a Maloo but !

It was a nice Monaro day.
A 20km return trip to Repco for some engine oil only took me just over 90kms up the Pacific Hway.
Then when I got home discovered that I already had 6 litres in cupboard, but was not a waste of time.

I'm feeling at a real loose end, there is really nothing I need to do on the ute apart from spraying some brake cleaner around the drivers side and finding out where I have a trans or PS weep. And to do that I really need to be in the shed as I have 4+ cans of brake cleaner and I can stand up so the fluid doesn't drip on my face. Trying not to make a special trip home because fuel alone would be 50 bucks. I was only just up there but was feeling terrible and just had no motivation for much at all. Really hanging out to get the Stato door trims but that's over three weeks away until I can pick them up. Seems weird but because I have spent so much time over the last six months working on the ute, that when I have nothing to play with on it, I get bored out of my brain....

Showed an auto rexy boy, that he will need a lot more than 150 metres to beat a manual SV6 from a standing start.

My low speed fan died on Saturday. Voltage was getting to the fan, but it just wasn't spinning. Temps forecast 40+ from Sun to Thur this week. Repco/Supercheap/Autobarn/Holden all didnt have the fan assembly in stock, but could order it for me to be here right after the heatwave. I had a 9inch $30 thermo fan from ebay sitting in the garage... long story short, chopped the old fan out and zip tied the new one in. Works a treat. AC blows cold while stopped at lights. Misso and kids aren't being slow broiled anymore. :)
