Wasn't really sure what I wanted to be as a kid, I still don't. Being awesome is a full time job.

I always wanted to be a chef. I did some work experience in a up market pub kitchen when I was in highschool. I did enjoy it but I could not see myself doing it for the rest of my life.

My grandfather is a retired commercial pilot and he wanted me to do the same but I didn't want to.

I did a apprenticeship in butchery and meat/poultry processing and became a butcher after I finished year 12 and have been doing that since. So not too far off being a chef, but the difference is that chefs don't know anything about meat, but they still claim that they do

So you can do good prices on meat packs? As in sides?

I wanted to be a squirrel, but became a fitter (& turner - haven't seen a lathe in 4 years.) instead.

Wanted to be a mechanic or marine engineer.

Got told by BHP in 1995 to forget about the marine engineer cadetship, or being any type of engineer for that matter as my grades were simply crap and I wouldn't get into the Australian Maritime College. Careers person at school told me the same thing.

Fast forward almost 20 years later, now a mining/geotech engineer lol.

Pilot. Only got as far as my GFPT before reality hit. From the glass trade to IT specialist now, it's not so bad.

Air force Pilot. Unfortunately I was too tall (I used to do a bit of private aviation though). then applied to the Army, unfortunately a back injury stopped that in it's tracks.

These days I'm a print finisher........
