Apologies if this isn't the bests section to post this in, feel free to move it if its not.

I need an ECU for my LSx conversion into my VR (auto). I have been told by several people that a 6.0L ECU out of a VY will do pretty much everything I need.

Anybody got any experience/thoughts on that, is it VY only I am looking for, or are all LS1/2/3 ecu's from VT-VX the same for what I want?

All help appreciated.

Pretty sure you may need an e38 ecu but I would talk with your tuner

I'm not expert on them, but for instance you can have sequential injection rather then batch fire. Experts will know more lol

Ask Marzella on sc. He will know. His bit of a wiz when it comes to everything lol

Ideally you would want a PCM from a late model Commodore. Something that was used on LS series engines. You want to find out how many teeth on the timing reluctor wheel and than find the PCM to match that as it did change over the various engines.

Just borrowed this image from your thread, it shows the reluctor wheel is 58X so you will need to ensure the PCM is compatible.

Actual engine size doesn't matter as the tune will be adjusted to suit your injectors and then the VE table set to suit. Obviously it will need to be tuned MAFless

Spend abit more and go for a haltec mate.

It won't be any better than an OEM pcm, especially not for the daily driving aspect of things.

Tuners just like after market ecu's because the customer spends more so more profit, also easier to tune as there are less tables to play with.
