we just took the mrs new vn for a long drive up to brisbane which is over 1000km from here and it took 50L to get to goondowindi and then a bit under half a tank the rest of the way. so thats about 80L at most which would easily be 8L/100km. pretty good i think. manual v6 too btw.

I get 12ltrs/100km in my ute. I mosty do open road driving. But here is a question...How many ltrs would my tank hold? I ask this because I when I fill up on the red line it only ever take about 43ltrs to top up...I think my gauge is out.

when your dash shows low fuel it means you should have about 10L left in the tank. and the standard tank sizes are 60L, 63L, 80L and i think 85L.

60L on what model?

V6 Sedans were 63L.
V8 Sedans were 80L.
Some early V8 Sedans were 85L.
Wagons are 68L.

heh, I just finished my test on a full tank, driving -fairly- sensibly, and got myself 502km out of a tank. That's "petrol-almost-coming-out-of-the-cap", all the way down to "stuttering-and-almost-stalling". Works out to almost 12.5l per 100km; part freeway, part city, part JC Cruise.

I'm not too displeased.

edit: that was on BP 91 octane fuel, just out of interest's sakes.
