What has the clown done???

Hi Guys,

I recently let my mate try to hardwire in my ipod charger to my VX. Never again is he going near my electrics. Anyways he tried to tap into that bunch of wires coloured red, blue, yellow and black. He stripped back the red and black wires but let them touch!!! One weird noise later and my car kit is not working. What has he done??? Is the car kit dead or is it just a fuse. He siad there was an inline fuse on the red wire but when he checked it, he couldn't tell if it was blown and it was different to any fuse I had seen before. The cellphone fuse is not blown in the fuse box....

So what has he done???

Sounds like he has tapped into the phone wiring, sounds like the fuse in the red wire is blown, If thats ok, then the supply fuse in the main fuse box may be blown.

If he got no idea of how to check for power, you probably should not let him touch it, a $5 test light might help you here.
