Hey, just thought I'd start a thread and see what injuries people have had from work, hobbies or just not thinking. I'll start I have a 30cm rod in my tib with 4 screws, went over the handlebars on a dirtbike, just keen to ride and no riding boots. And currently broken finger, from work.
I had a injury when i was riding my dirtbike to but not as bad… Come hauling around a corner and outa nowhere a ####ing tree jumped in front of me so i twist the throttle even more and it started skidding and tried to go around it and i did but it still smashed my leg.. Had boots on thank #### but had a really sore ankle and foot after it… Also had my fair share of stacks and injuries on my dirtbike..
I have fractured my left arm from tripping backwards on grass lol. Other than that sometimes I bite the skin around my nails and it gets a bit too much off and it either stings a f**k load for a few days or gets infected with pus and blows up for like a few weeks. This has happened many times but I still seem to do it .
oh the pus is the worst because you have to deal with the annoyance until a decent amount gets into the infected part and then you can poke it with a needle and squeeze.
Put garden fork through my own foot cause I wasn't paying attention. Had the boot of my Mum's old Laser fall on my head cause the struts died. Hit front teeth on pavement roller blading. Hit front teeth on trampoline frame. Got teeth fixed. Broke foot walking up stairs. Broke leg playing soccer.
fractured spine with artificial discs, broken femur in left leg with a broken tibia/fibula in the right, both legs plated and screwed multiple times over 3 surgeries. All in a days work...
Well all from motorbike riding: (Currently): Severe Ligament Damage to my left foot and a split bone in the top of my foot - Right foot has little ligament damage About a month ago: Ripped the fingernail clean off my finger, plus all the chunky stuff under it, showed a little bone underneathe when the nail was removed - 4 stitches Other times: Broke left foot in the middle which joins to your toes Torn right shoulder muscle Damaged the knee pretty badly, but there was no broken bone - Just Ligament damage, but this was 9 months ago and It still twinges some times. And that's in the last 2 years so far.. I seem to be the person, who believes the "if you don't fall off you're not trying hard enough" and try too hard... edit: and i broke my hip when i was 6 months old, good ol' put the leg in the cradle and turn trick. Now it's giving me grief..
Nice! Makes my 3cm cut in my wrist look like a scratch! (caused by using a stanley knife to cut hole in rear bar for towbar - i slipped 'cause i'm stupid trying that in the first place).
Rough as! How? I've broken couple ribs, dislocated shoulder 3 times (gives me trouble now), broken fingers and toes.. Most from when I used to race motocross Also, cut with a wire wheel on an angle grinder 10 minutes after: 16 hours after - note the red line tracking up my arm. Blood poisoning ahoy!
I was about to say 'in before sabbath' but punk got in first. 4 inch scar lengthways down my left wrist from the middle of the palm all the way down into my forearm. Tripped over with a glass jar and large fragment went straight through my wrist, shattering nerve cluster, cutting artery and shattering palm bone. I was 9 months old and I still remember the pain
Had close calls with glass, fell through a window when I was 6, didn't have a catch on my! Worked in a glass factory, never got cut by a piece. Last week, wasted at my mates, he pushes me cause I stole his drink, I put my arm out to catch myself and my hand went straight through the window, not a scratch! Lol Fractured my wrist when u was 8. Was coming home from school when I was hit by a bus, fractures small bones in my knee, opened it up could see the bone, was pretty gnarly - happened when u was 16 I've notice I break a bone every 8 years, and each time it gets worse, so when I'm 24, this is gunna ####ing suck.. Lol
Not that much actually. Snapped my collarbone one night a couple of years back after I'd had a few too many. Basically I slipped and fell...really quite boring. Rather disappointing as I'd never broken a bone in my life up until that point. Given I'd been thrown from a train only a couple of months earlier and come out of it rather unharmed (apart from a very bruised ass, and some scrapes) I was rather disappointed that while I'd broken a bone for the first time in my life, I didn't really have a good story to go with it! And I also have a fairly decent size scar on my elbow from a bike prang about 6 years ago - basically I was on a bikeway...basically I wasn't paying attention, it turned, I didn't. Apart from that though, really nothing major.
Broke my arm but didn't feel it. Got bogged in some sand and fell off my bike... went to get back on and was gobsmacked, broke both bones in it haha apparently it looked like a 'Z' The most painful thing I've done is probably playing golf with a metal dinky car. Hit it on some brick paving at the wrong angle and it flew up and cut my eyeball, big red eye for a few days
Broken collarbone twice from motocross broken hand 7 stitches inside my lip from football and some nice scars from working with glass
Metal plate under arch of left foot, pinned ankle, rods in tibula & fibula, plastic patella, artificial hip, elbow reconstruction, pinned wrist and metal plate in left side of head. Going through airports is a nightmare.
