I am looking at respraying my VR soon and am trying to find a REALLY WHITE white. Standard colour is quite soft but I want something REALLY bright. Does anyone know which car manufacturer has a super white colour? I want a manufacturers colour for ease of touchups etc.
When I wrote this I expected an answer like this but not that quick...funny, very funny. Good work mate
Get Dulux(?) vivid white. That was the whitest base I could get when I repainted my Austin. Also, Chrysler (in the 70s atleast) had a colour called PW7 Bright white
Dulux base white is what your aftyer, however i can't tell you if a car manufacturer has used it. A half becent paint supplier will have it though. If you're doing the job yourself can i suggest you experiment with some pearls or powders which should make it leap off the car. Either a white or i think there a silver in pearl will get you good results. This would end up a custom paint colour though so not really what you were asking for /shrug
I think I will be pretty flexible with colour after what you said, that sound great. I have done a fair bit of car painting but I want a pro job this time, I have had zero experience with pearls, just respray for mates that are basic. I'll definately look into experimenting now
hey mate, dulux auto paint hasnt been made for about 6 years now. try ppg they bought out the rights to the acrylic (they still do the vivid white). have you thought of going concepts no mix?? awsome paint aye, i was sellin it at one stage. its a modified acrylic, and you dont have to mix it, great stuff, looks great, most auto barns sell i and some 3d inspiration dulux stores do too. make sure you use their clear also, sooooo glossy. i havnt come accross nething like it b4. im a fan of the stuff if ya havnt noticed.
Confused..."concepts no mix". I am starting to think of the mix thing now for a better appeal. Is "concept no mix" a company/brand? PS...are you a Kiwi hence the "aye"?
My mate painted a Falcon with pure industrial white 2 pack, well lets just say there is a reason the cars factorys never use pure white. You honestly couldn't look at the thing on a sunny day without sunnies on or you would go blind, I'm suprised he hasn't crashed it from the bonnet blinding him
That sound like me, I think.... "pure industrial white"? Do you know the maker etc? Something i will investigate
Yeah it was a Wattyl Marine proof White 2 pack, pretty expenisive I imagine It was one of these two Wattyl - Product Search - Product Details Wattyl - Product Search - Product Details I'm sure the local paint shop will give you more of an idea of the difference between them or call Wattyl yourself they will tell you which one is insanely white. It's probably very expenisive because we droped a boat painted in it half off its trailer and the plastic rollers ran up the side of the boat with the full weight of the boat on it and it didn't even scratch the paint
the mazda 6 white would look awesome with the blue pearl, a mate has it done on his courier minitruck
Cheers mate, good work on the site ref too, something I will research some more too I imagine.
