The photo shows a filter which sits behind the front of the console on my vr calais. Looks to be sonething to do with the climate control, possibly a tx valve??

Anyway, the filter is perished and I'd like to replace it.

Love to know what I am asking for....

That looks like it might be the Vacuum Solenoid pack.

I doubt you can get the filter by itself. I did by the whole unit a few years ago direct from the US as it seems to be NLA locally.

That's a bloody handy schematic diagram. Might be able to solve climate control problems after all....o_O

I wasn't ever able to solve my issues. They're a nightmare of a system. Tried everything short of replacing the entire system. Ended up fitting a manual heater tap and was happy enough.

As for the filter, get some foam from clark rubber - doesn't need to be anything special as long as it breathes.

Those vacuum solenoid packs have not been available ex Holden for quite some years now. The only place to get them locally is via an ebay seller who uses the ID of "ad-87" of whom I feel is actually a Holden Dealer operating in disguise.

He is bringing these things in via US Amazon in batches and selling them off at $162 each. They actually cost him around $50 each. I will put up the part number in a couple of hours when I have access to mine which is still brand new and in it's box. In actual fact I don't need it any more and as such am considering selling it off to someone that needs it for their Climate control as I no longer have a vehicle that uses this bulls%#t system.

I note that the item title states WH and VT but the description states VR~VS. Not sure what's happening there as there are two slightly different versions of this unit so please select carefully.

There is no point in changing the foam as I can guarantee that it will no longer work properly anyway as the electronics has a limited lifespan in them.

There is no electronics in them,
They are just 12v solenoids,
I had a issue with no air out of the dash vents, and could not work out why,
So one day I was determined to find the fault.
So I checked the connections and the vac connections, it all appeared correct.
After checking the coils with a multimeter, they were ok, but then checked the continuity from the connector pins to the solenoids, I then found one of the solenoid had a damaged track on the circuit board, and I then noticed it was green with corrosion, so it had signs of water had corroded the track, so I got a single strand of telephone cable and soldered it between the rear of the plug, and the solenoid, and that fixed the problem that I had been annoying me for a few years.

Side note:
I did buy one from a wrecker, and have it as a spare in the event a solenoid fails.
