215/65/16 clears the spring base on a vs, throws speedo out on the rear though.
16x7 vs ss rim

VS are a different strut to the VB to VP.....Good advise none the less

Offset isn't the issue....The VX wheels currently fitted to my VC is closer to the inner guard, than the previous 16X8 prowlers fitted....Still have the same problem....225/55X16 hit the spring base of the strut
Offset is the issue, put 50 series tyres on your 48p rims or get the correct 30/35p offset rims for your car. Late model generic commodore rims sit 18mm closer to the suspension (48p vs 30p) than the average old wheel. 16 x 8 SV5000 rims are 30p with 225 50 tyres and will fit and look tough. Lower the offset ,deeper the dish, better the look.

Well, please explain why when I put 225/55X16 on both the CSA Prowlers AND the VX rims, they hit the base of the spring, when the offset of the VX rims is 48P and the Prowlers are 30P?

Tried 225/55X16 on my VC (same strut) and they hit the spring base....I suspect the 215/60X16 will do the same, even though I haven't tried

These were tried with VXSS rims (currently fitted to the car) and 16X8 CSA Prowlers

You've got your VX rims a little mixed up
VX S models had the 16" rims
VX SS had 17" rims

VX SS Rims

VX S Rims......These were also fitted to the VU S ute

Yes I have the model of the car wrong.....The rims fitted to the car pictured are the rims I currently have fitted, not the ones you have pictured....And I realise it is a VT pictured, but my rims are VX rims

I agree that they are not VX rims.
I was going to point this out but didn't want to start an argument with someone who has 20 + years in the tyre trade :)
Are these the same rims that were fitted to the VT S as well ? I'm thinking that they are but not 100% sure.

I believe so. Holden had a habit of fitting the previous model's SS rims to the next model's S.....see VR SS vs VS S as an example.

Rims are slightly different....There are 6 spokes instead of the 5, and the spokes are slightly flatter and wider than these pictured....3 out of the 6 spokes are wider than the other 3 and have a 7cm X 2 cm "hole" inbetween the spokes starting near the top edge of the rim and go towards the centre...The other 3 spokes have the have gapping similar to the VS SS rims.... I believe the centre caps interchange though.

I just looked at the picture I posted and realise I pictured the wrong rims...These are the ones....So you can compare the 2 different rims now and understand what I was trying to explain
