didnt see it was a ute lmao.

[EDIT] I heard the pioneer slimelines are pretty good.

Morel Tempo/Maximo are a good priced speaker for the quality.

are you going to be installing it all yourself?

Is your budget $1000 for the complete stereo with wiring + install?

nahh, more than a $1000... the head unit alone is like $1500, i want one of the new kenwood/alpine/or pioneer 6inch or 7inch screens what ever they are with the Sat Nav. i'd be wrapt if i could get a real good sounding system sub/amp/speakers for $1500 (not including the head unit)

That's the link for the thread on my old ute

Basically I had morel maximo 6 splits, Polk mm1040 sub all off a 4ch jaycar response amp and 4 gauge wiring.
All up was around the $1000 mark and I never bothered getting a new head unit, just ran it off the stock one

    Hope that helps

what did your setup end up costing? how's that head unit go as well, does it have gps/sat nav? so what was the final solution with the gear you went with?

It ended up being around $1000 for speakers, sub/box, amp and wiring.

Like I said in my previous post I never did upgrade my head unit. Just ran it all off the stock one through a LOC.

All up for the money the setup sounded quite good to me. It went plenty loud enough but the morel speakers played all my music really well and there was defiantly a noticeable quality difference.

ive got a vy with a 12 inch slimline kicker behind my passenger seat and a kenwood head unit. but its only a single din. putting my door speakers in when it cools down a bit. its to hot to be in a car all day hahaha.
the speakers and sub will be running off a cobolt orion amp. bridged for the sub. it runs clean already will be interesting to hear it after i do my tweets and door speakers.

    Have a VZ ute

    Head unit - Pioneer P4300DVD

    Front Splits - JL C2-600

    Rear 6x9's - JL C2-690tx

Amp Powering speakers - Kenwood excelon xr-5s

Subs - Pioneer wx77a sitting behind headrests

    2 Farad capacitor

doors and full rear panel dynomatted

    All up costing around $3000

Though if you're looking at spending $1000 on just speakers and amp I would recommend the same speakers as mine, a cheaper 4ch amp and a small powered sub. something like a pioneer wx110a. As well as a bit of dynomat. will come in a bit over $1000 but will be a nice sounding setup. Nothing booming but just nice. and if you want a little more bass get the same sub as me! If you're just looking for something nice you won't be disappointed.

For a head unit i'd recommend the Sony XAV-701BT. Bought it the other day from JBHIFI. Best piece if equipment I have ever bought! Check it out mate, I promise you wont hate it!

looksw very nice that unit, i think im gonna hang out until pioneer release there new 2013 range, i've sussed out there new top of the line AVH-X8500BHS.... looks like and unbelievable piece of equipment, they've got this new 'MIXTRAX' technology which pretty much lets you DJ your own music from your car, you can adjust almost everything with the songs and it blends the songs in when playing off a CD etc... looks real sweet!
