I have a VH sle and I’m undecided on wat way to go
Want are people thoughts on either to buy a 304 and stroke it to 355

Or just go with a
LS3 or a LS2

Or go with a 350 Chevy engine
What would be the best to go with
So many choice and don’t know what the best to go any help would be good

Stay Holden. LS swaps have been done to death and SLE's are sought after models if in good nic.

If a 6 or carby 304, I would be looking for an injected 304 from a VN onwards. Don't bastardise it.

I'd keep 308, freshen up with flat tops and a nice mild cam that works with the std auto. If you want some flow, EFI heads flow about 30% better than B cast. Nice dual plane with a finely tuned 600 vac sec. Great drivability, economy, and can be done on a modest budget.

Yeah depends what style you like but I think it will be worth more if you keep it true to the era with a worked Holden V8.
If you want easy horsepower and maximum speed for tracking it go an LS but that will need all the electrics to go with it.

202 or 186, triple sidedraught, comp and cam. :)
Or a mild 355"

2JZ is the only none Holden option worth considering. (Lighter and better than LS i reckon)

Not lighter, it's an iron block. Would cost a bomb these days too, especially if you wanted to use a R154.
