2000 VT S2 Acclaim
My car is a 2000 model VT series 2 acclaim v6 n/a Auto and I am trying to work out what LSD diff I can use in it. Its currently the original single pegger 3.07:1 ratio with the round flange yoke on it not the rubber donut crap. Is my diff centre a BW-78 or a BW-80??
A list of which model commodores I can get one from that will bolt straight in would be absolutely awesome!!

BW-78, single pegger.

Edit: any vt-vz diff will fit just bear in mind that a diff from a vx and newer will require the accompanying tail shaft OR require getting the yoke replaced with a flange.

Any VQ to VT IRS duff will also fit. Without having to change anything.

While this is true. Unless this is a freshly rebuilt diff with higher ratio gears, I wouldn't bother.

He's looking for a new diff... probably would be best if he got something that will last more than 1000k's before needing a rebuild.

Hence I said 'unless' its been rebuilt, dont bother.

Fitting higher diff gears will kill the acceleration, but will drop the engine revs slighly out on the highway at 100 km/h .. Most people fit slightly lower diff gears for better acceleration..

Same could be said for a VX-VZ diff in regards to a rebuild.. A VQ - VT diff bolts straight up without needing to modify anything.

Whether the diff needs a rebuild wasn't what needed to be answered.
