VH SL/E 202 standard apart from extractors and exhaust when i bought it. Parted ways with it after i rebuilt it with yt head, cam 350 holley, nitrous, shift kitted traumatic, spooled 3:45 rear end ended up with 132rwkw and a spun bearing. Still kicking myself for swaping the rolling shell for a 308 vk brock mock up pos. It was pretty clean, now have my eyes peeled for another. Would swap my 108000km vn ss shell for a VH SL/E without thinking about it!
My first vehicle was a Honda CB175, the first car a Triumph 12/50. Both saw me almost through university, when I bought a Triumph 2000 just before graduation from my earnings caddying part time in golf tournaments. My favourite first car story is at the following link: Hillman Car Club of South Australia – Bill Waite's 1949 Hillman Minx
Haha wow, the ol hillmans go forever..... I too have taken the old girl many places I shouldn't have, even scared off a land cruiser at one point.... But nothing like that....
Good little story re the Hillman. I liked his poem :- His Shed a poem by Bill Waite A fellow needs a shed to call his own A simple little place that’s his alone, Where things may slowly gather on the floor Until it’s very hard to close the door. Where cobwebs lurk in corners never swept And yet he knows where everything is kept. The clutter on the bench is inches high, You have to duck your head to save an eye. The garden tools stand propped against the wall, One knock and with a clatter they all fall. And yet a fellow knows just what is there – The shed is his and peace is everywhere.
My dad had a Hillman Hunter was a good old car. Called it Tigger because it bounced all over the road lol
Haha yes. I love that poem. I'm getting it put on a plaque and hanging it on my wall in the garage! I think that is THE sexiest car Holden ever produced.
yeah i was only 16 when i got my first car, saved since i was 14, the day the car was delivered i got my licence, the day i got my licence and the first time i drove my car someone reversed into it, later that night i layed a fat set with a whole heap of hektic bros watching and collected the ball of rubber was three times the size of a cricket ball and used to burn bits of the rubber like incence after it was crashed
1985 vk berlina, bought it off an old bloke who had it from new, reco EFI 202, immaculate interior, faded silver paint. Had it for nearly a year until i bought a vn
You saved 45K from the age of 14 to 16? Cool wtg Sounds like you had some real bad luck with being reversed into, especially while you were driving. And laying all that rubber on the first day you got your license too, sounds like you have some skills man, at least you arent one of those idiots that dont know what they are doing...
