It runs from the top of the passenger side rocker cover to the manifold. Order a new inlet manifold gasket while you're there because the manifold needs to come off. Maybe a good time to do plugs aswell.

6 bolts for the manifold an a couple of hoses, shouldnt take more than 20 minute max. Including the spark plugs.

Save yourself some cash and wrap it with black electrical tape.

I'm not a mechanic, But I would say that this hose is just part of the emission system and it simply to return the gasses back into the motor, so as Ricey said, wrap it with some tape. However if I'm wrong, than one of the mechanics no doubt will put me right.

Its the Position Crank Ventilation hose, which is part of the emission system, this crack can cause a horrible idle and performance issues where the car nearly stalls, due to vacuum leak.

From Holden, the whole hose piece costs $85, when i got it 8-12 months ago.

Some people have gone and just replaced the plastic elbow, but tape works, try self-amalgamating tape, this worked fine for me till i got the hose replaced.

Not entirely true morph, it's not the positive crankcase ventilation system , that hose runs to a solenoid on the back of the passanger valve cover which vents fuel tank fumes. 100% agree with splits in it causing bad idle through loss of vac, definatly just tape it up
