What's the best 6ltr available?

I'm thinking of buying a 6ltr engine to throw into my hotrod project, which year engine is the strongest/best?
Or should I just stick with an Ls1?

I prefer the L98, it's pretty solid and you don't have to worry about removing all the AFM gear.

Nothing wrong with LS2, I prefer more efficiency because I do more miles and torque because I carry stuff, but in a hotrod the LS2 is a good base engine.

And how hard is it delete AFM?

Later VZ's and early VE manuals had L98's, they weren't fitted with AFM.

Yes, but the LS2 cam makes up for it.
