Anyone purchased a a crate engine landed from Summit Racing? I've been looking for a good engine and prices are skyrocketing. Rather than buy an older dunger, I'm wondering about a crate engine from the US for a project.

Eg $10,875.08 for a LS3 https://www.summitracing.com/parts/nal-19432414
$10,875.08
$2,163.51 (freight)
$13,038.59
$1,303.86 (GST)
$14,342.45

Any other charges? Still need to buy an ECU, Wiring and odds and sods

You will be stung for some import duty costs as well.
Just remember, engine + freight + insurnace + customs duty (~ 5%) + handling fees = landed cost.
Then add gst to landed cost to get it through the door (so to say)...

The complexity is the boarder force define the exchange rate to be used.
They can even define what something should be valued at irrespective what was actually paid

Why not ring a freight forwarding company who can help with the whole shamozle, or read below:

I'd guess it would be just over $15k (unless teh 10,875 already has gst component included though i doubt that would be teh case)...

Holmart had a bunch of LS3's for much less but they seem to have been sold, or they are being held in a store room until prices go up further at which point a few more are put up on their site

You can get package deals with everything needed for your conversion as shown below, just prepare to pay...

More cars than I've got space to park!
Don't forget that most financial institutions (such as Visa) charge 5% currency conversion fees too!

Everybody wants their pound of flesh.

Yep, spewing I didn't get one when the thought first crossed my mind in 2018.

Look at the price increases at Holmart over the past 5 years.

Well, the 100% increase in LS3 price over the 5 years won’t show up in the official CPI numbers o_O

Heck, the CPI basket of goods doesn’t even include petrol in the same way it used to pre 76. The ABS graph 2 in this link highlights the deviation from CPI post 76 (what I call the screw factor)… Government spin obviously projects a different story
