After going through a few posts i noticed some ppl are getting really extreme readings, wondering what your setup is and what you get. Mine is vr v6 auto with extractors and exhaust with cai and 3.45 diff and a touch over 190k on the clock i do around 600km a week which includes city running, freeway running, suburb hopping, cruising and peak hour chaos. i average between 10.2-10.8L per hundred k's and can push my tank out to 610km ( i always fill up after that i don't want to test it to empty) and i have the standard 63L tank. what do you guys get?
I normally range 12-13 L/100km, but I wish i could get it down. There's plenty of people on here under 10. I've only got 150,000 on the clock too
i get around 9litres-11litres per 100kms around town (mind you our town isnt that big) Hervey Bay of Queensland. used to get 16.6ltrs per 100km then i changed the fuel filter went down to 13, then replaced pump (as it died) some breather hoses and cleaned throttle body and IAC valve and now i get the 9-11lt per 100km. around the 9lts when i drive like a granny 11 when i drive like a p plater
yeah u can lower it, get ur injectors serviced and replace fuel filter plus it cant hurt doing em neways makes ur engine run better
I have had a VS S2 manual V6 from new (1997). I generally get about 10-11L/100Km around town, though if I am limited totally to short trips in traffic, it might drop to around 12-13L/100Km. I usually fill up once a week (for cheapest prices), rather than when the tank gets to a certain level. On the open road I always better 8L/100Km heavily laden driving at the speed limits. With just myself out on the open road, I have got less that 7L/100Km over a tankful on a number of ocassions. Longest between refueling has been Windsor NSW to Warwick QLD, which was just under 800 Km. Still had around 4 litres left.
