a while ago i changed my front pads and about 2 weeks later went on a 700km+ trip over the mountains. problem is when i was braking going over the mountains going about 90km+ i had severe shaking on the steering wheel, quite dangerous and hard to control really. brakes were tested due to registration a week after fitment of new pads. not anywhere near as bad now about 4 months later, but definately still noticable. just wondering wat the go is??
thanks
p.s no shaking before the new pads were fitted.

I don't think it's worth getting the rotors machined really. I got them done on my VN and it was good for 30,000ks or so... But yeah it's cheaper to buy new rotors from ebay and send the oldies to the scrap metal so you don't feel guilty about wasting resources with the new ones :)

I must add I don't use brakes like a normal person so they don't last long :)

who needs brakes when you can attach a massive bullbar on your car and just let the car in front slow you down:D
works for 4wds:thumbsup:

Yeah... I had pretty severe brakeshudder.
There a few things that it could be.
1) Rotors need Machining
2) may have a wheel balance/wheel out of round that may be exascerbated under braking (mine did)
3) Front end bushes might be shot which can also make any small vibration seem worse.

But if it's wheel bearings it will wobble all the time on rough roads not just braking
