^ Takata is bankrupt so BMW will have to look at their own insurer and maybe Takata’s insurer who will ultimately foot part of the bill (while all the lawyers make a killing on fees) 
However, BMW having so many vehicles to deal with is no excuse in avoiding ACL provisions. But if you’re happy with the outcome and getting out of BMW ownership and the excessive maintenance costs it entails, all the strength to you
