What happens if Holden closes down, or more to the point, dealerships close.

Where would we get our parts from? (Yes there are some things we are stuck with getting from Holden)
Who would take over that role?

I would imagine there would be a surplus of parts available , in that unlikely (hopefully) event

I have read recently that is already in process.
Don't know if it is true, may have even been scuttlebutt on this forum or a motoring news site, can't remember where.

In reality Holden is only a retailer, they don't make most of the common parts which are either sourced from GM or local manufacturers. I guess Holden would be the source for things like body panels. I've sourced parts from the US that are listed as NLA at my local stealership so where there is a will there is a way.

I’d say we could go to the Chevy dealers when they show up.

Holden only keeps parts for ten years then has a massive sell off. Try getting parts for a VZ they're NLA after stock is gone and all the fast movers are gone. We buy a **** load of parts off dealerships as we sub contract to some panle shops for mechanical work. Insurance companies want OE parts 99% of the time, so when you qoute a 12 year old car and parts are hard to find and insurance value is low the assessor just writes it off. I've seen several holdens on the tilt tray to the auctions because of this.
