Well hello from rainy Melbourne northern suburbs..

when hitting the boot release button on the remote or in the glovebox .. if the shockers are like new.. should the lid just open up completely ? I've been missing out cause it don't do that at all.

Should I change the shockers?

Help me sleep better tonight please :)

Nah, I’ve never seen this happen. it pops but stays closed. Once you move the lid up a bit the hinge geometry allows the struts to push and hold open.

Hello from the wet western suburbs, the struts can lift it completely if you change the lifting points, do you have a boot spoiler, if so get the ones for boot lid spoilers if not get them anyway it might be just enough to make it lift, u know how physics works so if you want it to pop open you need longer struts and move the ball back further. Be nice if they made pump up struts to up the pressure.

Using stronger struts for models with accessories will not push the boot lid up when opening.

They are designed to make lifting the lid easier. Lift assist. That’s all.

I have the struts for a heavier boot lid.
Did this because the lid liner is also insulated (I added it).

Even with no boot lid trim fitted, the lid does not lift or pop up itself.

You dont want the boot lid to pop all the way up.
Just imagine what might happen if it got caught by a gust of tail wind whilst it was opening...

You can get spring loaded door poppers, they use them on hatch backs to pop them open. Its the first stage of helping the strut to lift once they get going in motion and if they are good they will lift, I got a pair of spoiler struts before adding the spoiler and it was opening up on its own but only on hot days.

They do open in the VF. Even with the big spoiler mine still open several inches.
