Hi all,

Recently my VR Statesman have problem with Control Cruise. CRS decide to come at RANDOM time when it want to. Like let saying after 15-20 Minutes driving and CRS would come on itself, I don't touch the stalk switch at all. Like it decide to come when it want to.

I would like to know what would problem could CRS come on when it want to.

Yes I replaced brand new Control Cruise stalk and Also swap Module Cruise Control from wrecker and also Brand new brake light switch and cancel safety Cruise Control switch/wires.

Would it loose wires/cables under engine bay/steering?

Maybe it could BCM faults. Any idea? I would keen to test any wires/cables see if get power for CRS.

Any help really appreciate it.

Thanks,
James.

Ok, Very weird thing happen with cruise control.

You can see Brake light switch and cruise switch. They are plug in and everything. Or would wire loose?

See the stalk switch connect to other plug and it work fine, Problem is, CRS just won't turn on with stalk switch unless driving it would come on itself and then after this happen I can switch off/on?

I'd try and get hold of a workshop manual - either from library or buy a Gregorys number 268 and check the BCM wiring there - or PM me your email address and I'll scan the page for you. It sounds like something loose somewhere and not an easy one to track down. Will the cruise actually engage above 40kph?
Good Luck.

With the aid of this diagram ....the the grey/green wire is somehow being false fed by a 12v source...if the stalk has been ruled out it could be in the cluster but the most likely is a bcm fault where the pink/black wires 12 v is being shorted to the grey/green inside the bcm or there is a false feed being put on what the grey wire goes to inside the bcm...when it comes on does it stay on or just flash up now and then?

Found the problem!

Okay, My advice, to anyone who have same problem with Cruise control.

Turn out the BCM (Relay faults) or wiring plug into BCM (Grey/Green colour wiring need 12v to light up CRS), Just give it a bang (Not hard) if the CRS is light up, There your problem.

Hopefully it will help anyone who didn't find out why the problem with cruise control.

P.S Thanks to Markovr and I just check with grey/green wire plug into the BCM and bang the BCm and CRS come on all the time now, If CRS is off, Just bang or shake the wiring and CRS come on.

Hako: Yeah Loose wiring cause CRS to not come on. Thanks for help and found wiring/bcm is problem.
