Hi, I know this sounds lame but this is my 1st time changing oil on a commodore.
I was wanting to know where the sump plug was. I think I found it but wanted to be sure before undoing it.
Is it on the side of the sump (on the passenger side), kind of opposite the oil filter?
Thanks
Mark

There will be only one bolt, it'll most likely be like 18mm or so, on the sump, usually passenger side, should have a seal on it also.

Undo it and see if oil comes out. That'll be the one!

aZk.

try not to do what I did and drop the bolt into steamin hot oil:p
I was fishing and cooking at the same time

just a quick tip too... try to jack the car up from the drivers side to let most of the oil drain

The bolt is a 19mm. Get a good socket or ring spanner, you don't want to strip this bolt. Pays to use a new washer every 2nd or 3rd service. Get a telescopic magnet and use that to retain the plug when it unscrews.

Was a 1997 vt v6 wagon
...and when you remove the filter, some oil is going to pour out onto the ground, so better have a drip tray ready as well.
