The sub won't go down to 4 ohm though... The HiFonics will do the job but's it's a long arsed way of doing.

You need an amp that will do...
500ish into 2ohm (The ideal way)
500ish into 8ohm (thats a big freaking amp!)
250isn into 4ohm x2 (two channel amp or that hifonics)

Some suggestions for you...
The Alpine that Vongy mentioned is perfect Alpine MRX-M55 1 CH Amplifer - ($234.85)RYDA Car Audio
This Kenwood has been a great performer over the last few years. Kenwood KAC-8105D Car Amplifier - ($182.85)RYDA Car Audio
Orion offering but a little underpowered Orion Cobalt CO8001 Car Amplifier - ($248.85)RYDA Car Audio
The same as nutz mentioned but in revised casing Rockford Fosgate R500-1D Amplifier - ($198.85)RYDA Car Audio
Every young fella reckons Pioneer is the bees knees <insert eye roll here> Pioneer GM-D8601 Mono Block Amplifier - ($232.85)RYDA Car Audio

There you go... hope that helps you.

Fair enough... I'd personally drop my money on the Alpine myself.

Just so you know.... I was being sarcastic about the 50w. You won't notice it but I still think the alpine is the better amp.
