Hi there, which auto goes in a 1994 vr v6 acclaim. I thought it was a 4l60e, or is it a t700.

yeap its the 4L60e and the model of trans you should be after is 4hdd or 5hdd.

4hdd = first letter being the year it was made ie.1994

yea the t700 is for vn/p, which is cable operated so short answer, no. not without screwing round

the 4L60e e being for electronic, which is all controlled by ur ECU and it'll throw a hissy fit logging codes.

stick with with whats made for it and u shouldnt have any dramas

Although the guy selling it reckons it is an electronic one... does this make any sense?

technically the VP & VQ got the 4L60 which is cable operated and the VR-VS got the 4L60e.

if it has anything like 4hdd or 3hdd on it, that denotes the year it was manufactured. get that number off it if you can. that will tell you the year then we can narrow it down whether its electronic or not

Like ephect says 3HDD or 4HDD are the correct ones - I'm not sure but I think some 5HDDs may fit as the VR was still being made in early '95. The sure test is whether the plugs are exactly the same.

Question for ephect: - what is a "hissy fit"???
