    want a vr or vs
I'm looking at buying a wagon and trying to work out which model i want. I like the look of them all.

VS seems to cost a fair bit more, is the ecotec worth the extra money?

Do any of the wagons come with lsd?

Is there much difference between the models? The v6 from vn to vr is pretty much the same isn't it?

Loiking for a 6, don't want anything with heaps of mods just something tidy and reliable. Eventually suspension, cai, exhaust and chip.

Thanks for any info or advice.

Hey Andrew, If I were you I would go for the VS. Yes the Ecotech is worth the extra money! They are just a way better engine. VN - VR Engines are basiclly all the same, yes. I used to have a '96 VSII Executive Wagon and now drive a VP sedan. In the 4 years I owned the VS I never had any major problems, I have had the VP for 6 years now and have had nothing but problems. Think I like the VS's? Damn right I do!

if it was me i would go for the vr because i like the vr/s shape but i prefer the buick motor for some reason. I think its because its still a drivers car and with the lumpy idle feels like a powerful car even if its not

The smart thing to do would be the VS cos it's newer etc. but the VR's live axel will help with burnouts be4 u think about lsd.

All VN-VS Wagons are live axel. None of them have LSD...

I would go the VS, Ecotech is more powerful/more torquey....

i would highly disagree with that. The buick takes it out with torqueyness over the ecotect at low revs, Basically the reawson i bought my vr.

Its all about personal preference go with wat you would think suits you. There isnt much difference between the vn vp vr vs wagons other than shape and motor.

Vp by far. No electronic gearbox rubbish, and the best version of the buick motor.

Besides, everyone knows the VP wagon is the best looking in that family ^_^

Engines aside because they both have good points and bad (my preference is ecotec).
The VR/VS has the far better front suspension, wider track (matches the rear better), more castor etc.
None of the wagons (except hSV clubby wagons) come with LSD std.
my VS had LSD in it as an option that the previous owner had wisely ticked.
Another plus for the VR/VS wagons is the ABS option (std in Acclaim).
Internally the VR/VS Acclaim and Berlina wagons have a 60/40 rear split backrest, (not sure about the Exec's) with the VS's having headrests , Berlina VS's also have rear arm rest.
    My 2c worth.

I'd get a VR, all the advantages of the VS without the ecospac :)

The front suspension on a VR/VS is easier to work with from past experience. My current VR wagon doesn't have the split fold seats and is a series 2!
You can find a decent VR/VS wagon on ebay for around $2500 without any issues.

i would go the VR over all them. i am not a fan at all of the VP look and i like the buicks in the vn to vr than the ecotecs. better feel to drive i reckon.

Get a VS or a well looked after VR if you want the buick. VN VP wagons are a bit long in the tooth I reckon
