hey all! this problem dosent bother me but i am keen to figure out why its happening, and how to fix it when/if i get sick of it

ive recently done a full car audio install

heres the list:
sony head unit (250 watt)
jvc 6" speakers (front)
pioneer 6x9's (rear)
sony xplode 12"sub (boot)
2x 600watt amps (1450 watts inc the head unit)
1 farad capacator
and a distrabution block to spread the power arround

THE PROBLEM:

when i press the accelerator the system whines, its like a wistle and it increces as the revs come up, when the sounds are up loud you cant hear it but when there on low volume you can.

i was wondering whats causing this? how do i fix it?

cheers

most people will say sound suppressor, but I still say your alternator, I bet if you change it you will notice all your problems going away, the voltage regulator on them craps out and starts giving you funny problems before the bat light on the dash stays on.

Does the bat light on the dash ever come on?

Also generally earth problems can cause whining in stereo gear

Where have you earthed off the amplifiers, and did you srcap/sand back the area to bare metal?

i would suggest starting by moving the earth to the floor of the boot, worth a try, the parcel tray should be fine but try the floor cheap and easy to try

"Engine whine" can be cause by lots of things.

Faulty or cheap RCA's - Go get some shielded RCA cables. They're a bit more expensive but worth it in my opinion.

Faulty Amp - This is only something you can check if you have or know somebody with a spare amp.

Poor grounding - possibly upgrade the power and earth cable size, start by moving the ground cable to a different (more solid) location. Make sure to remove any paint around the ground bolt.

Crossing RCA's and Power cables will cause noise

Some headunits produce a small amount of whine, try grabbing a bit of speaker wire and touch the chassis of the HU and ground it.

Short in speaker wire - Do you notice the noise being in 1 speaker noticably louder than others, or does 1 speaker occasionally cut out? good chance there's a short. Try disconnecting each speaker from the amp 1 by 1. (personal experience i found both my backdoor speakers were causing noise in my system)
