whistling intake

When my vs v6 revs up to about 2500rpm it starts to make a whistling sound then disapears and comes back again at about 4000ish but if i go WOT you can bearly hear it and this is with a stock filter in a box, its even loader with a pod filter on. I have removed the plem to change the injectors/o rings and the rubber gaskets that seal the plem to the intake runners seam to be in good condition, the car is also running rich with a bit of fuel comming out of the exhaust. I'm out of ideas and any help would be appreciated.

Whats the best way of finding out excatly where it is comming from?

the gregories manual recomend squiring a little oil around the gaskets etc and when you hit the spot it should stop whistling. sounds like a bloody messy way to me though. did you say you hade the intake manifold off? if that is the case one ofthe gaskets probably hasn't seated right and is leaking

Ive got the same sorta thing except mines when i have my foot on the accelerator just cruisin and when i lift my foot it stops!

Any other ideas (My intake manifold hasnt been taken off)

cood be to do wif one of ur pulleys, ie my noise is from alternator

it was making the noise before i removed the manifold, when it put all back together after installing the new injectors it made the same noise so i don't think i made it any worse.

my vp made that noise from my exhaust manifold.
sounded like it had a BOV when i let go of the accerator!!

Hey guys be sure it's not just ur MAF sensor ur hearing. They're pretty loud on Vs v6's
