Righto- Just picked up new heat tap, and some of those pellets.

2 x Q's:

1) Where should I put the pellets?
2) Where should I fill the coolant up? through the radiator? or that pipe next to it with the yellow capped dip-stick??

Cheers for the help.

Regards,

Mike

Have you drained and flushed the coolant reservior tank?

Once coolant reservior tank is emptied

First fill up that pipe (coolant reservoir tank) with coolant to just above the MAX mark on the yellow capped dipstick.

Then the pellets and the coolant go in the radiator.

No, after she heated up during the flush I just let her cool down and i drained the fluid and havent done anything since, I wanted to replace the heat tap before refilling the coolant system.

As far as bleeding the system correctly, I removed the bottom and top radiator hoses and performed a reverse flush, but not much liquid was coming out of the top hose, I suspect because of the faulty tap. I read round the forums and the only other thing I could have done as far as i know was to remove those two plugs from the block. Is there anything else i could do?

Thanks for your help.

The reason for not much water coming out may have also been if you had not removed the Thermostat the water could not pass through the engine with much volue.. But thats just from what i read as what you may have missed, also a reverse fluss would be done by the water going in the top and out the bottom as the water flow comes out the top and in the bottom when the engine is running, i hope that this has also helped you out when you do this in the future.
cheers

The thermostat housing is located where the top radiator hose connects to the engine.

You will need to take the engine cover off and undo the two bolts on the thermostat housing to gain access to the thermostat.
