Shop around when it comes to GPs/Psychologists etc, some are worthless and some are a great help.

i honestly don't believe talking to someone will help, i believe pushing yourself into social environments is what will help and it was working but i had an operation so i was staying home all the time and it turned bad again because of that.
If you find a psychologist who specialises, or is at least a firm believer, in CBT you will have an expert who can help you push yourself in to social environments and will give you all of the tools and techniques required to do so. CBT is pretty much what you are describing. You can throw yourself in the deep end but without your floaties you're likely going to drown.

PS: Medication helps a lot but it isn't the solution.

PPS: I feel like Dr ####ing Phil. lol

Agree with the above, no point trying to fix yourself when there's people who specialize in it. No different to taking you car to an auto electrician to fix something you dont have the knowledge to fix yourself. Theres no shame in it either.

Medication will make life easier, but as said its part of the solution, not a complete fix.

My Mrs got through by educating herself on her condition and having a great GP, medication and support from those around her. She's pretty much back to normal now but still takes the medication.

looks like i didn't ruin that friendship after all. she understands my anxiety because she has it too and so we are on the same level and i am getting anxiety tablets on friday so that is good.

i honestly don't believe talking to someone will help, i believe pushing yourself into social environments is what will help and it was working but i had an operation so i was staying home all the time and it turned bad again because of that.

there is a lot of anxiety sufferers here

Thats good then that you sorted it out with ya friend.
Check out that website again but this section
DIY Health

Maybe if you both in close proximity of each other, try a few things from the list together.

Personally after seeing it myself, has given me ideas as well.
Some of them sound fun actually.

And of course im no expert, but dont be embaressed or concerned to speak to someone on those bad days if they come up, if at all.

What did you say to piss her off?

Just txt her and apologise and say youll be here when shes ready to talk. Dont keep calling or txting after that, let her make the next move.

Been there dude , suffering from clinical depression for about 12yrs , with the odd panic attack sometimes , you certainly are not alone in this , calling for help is the first step in recovery man , talking about it is hugely beneficial , doing little things for yourself that you enjoy doing , and keeping to a routine , chat to a Doctor or a Councillor can help also , by getting a objective opinion . But above all , don't give up , it will get better . :beer chug:

You need a support person that isnt also a victim of anxiety/depression. Your low points can trigger hers and would be why she cut you off.

There's always better options than ending it all even though it doesnt feel like it. The bad feelings will eventually go away if you seek help and work towards it. You just need to keep reminding yourself of that and stay strong.

If you end it, thats forever dude. Theres no coming back from that.
