I love my Redhot Redline :) Best car I have ever owned!

    A list of my cars:

1992 Subaru Liberty RS Turbo with 284 awkws
A crappy Rav 4 which I blew up
2009 Ford FG XR6 (that was actually a great car!)
2012 Chrysler 300C Luxury which is a peice of sh*t and I hated.

    and now....

2014 VF SSV Redline which is the sh*t!

VF Redline sedan A6. 11000k's no issues. Fantastic car. Best I've driven, let alone owned.

Just do it. You will NOT regret it.

I've owned 5 VEs (including a GTS) and 3 FG Falcons, and I have to say, my VF SV6 Ute is awesome compared to all of them.
Absolutely love the VF, it is a whole new generation over any of my previous cars (maybe two over the FGs).

This is great. So happy to hear from people who are loving their new vf's.
Seems a lot of people have bought redlines.
I'm just gonna have to do it!
I bought personal plates a couple of months ago to put on this new ute, I was that keen to do it. Reading the faults and problems thread put the wind up me a bit I guess.
I bought black slimline holden logo plates that read ENDERA
I want to get a black redline ute with a hardtop.

I'm happy with my SS. I couldn't bring myself in spending Redline money on a Commodore as from previous Commodore company cars I had I found them to be shitboxes, so the VF SS is my first Holden to own! And yes I am happy with it but so far in 4 months I have found build quality issues that I never experienced in 11 years of owning Falcons. In fact I have never had any issue with the Falcons, but I am prepared to stick with the VF unless issues keep arising or something major fails. But overall it is a great car.

You've been lucky then, falcons also have a list of known issues as long as your arm (ie. water pump leaks, seat bolster crushing, drives door wind noise, ambient temp sensor failure etc just to name a few)

I picked up a demo SS-V Redline auto in hot red a couple of weeks back. It had 6,000 on the clock so nicely run in as it was the dealer principles car and I've had a couple of his hand-me-downs. Extras included tow bar, mats and big spoiler.

My previous was a 2008 VE SV6 also in red that I owned from new; the only similarities between the two is the colour and badges.
The ride, finish and appointments of the VF are amazing compared to the VE. I liked my VE until I had to drive it home from the VF demo.

I've owned a range of Commodores from the VN series onwards including new VR SS, VT Clubbie, and VX Clubbie R8 and certainly the VF in a different league than the previous models.

The SS-V has plenty of grip and pickup when required. I'm still in that honeymoon period where the car needs a full throttle squirt every day (for my grinning pleasure only). I am liking all the balls and whistles of the redline which puts it at the higher end of the luxury market without the ridiculous pricing of the europeans.

No real issues with the car thus far. iPhone integration was a breeze and pandora/stitcher and general bluetooth streaming are all working fine. Voice recognition is a bit hit and miss with Kylie the Aussie girl having some trouble with my Kiwi accent, she keeps saying 'Pardon'. I'm sure she is nice though....apologies if she is someones sister ....

I haven't tried the assisted parallel park yet; I'm still nervous about scraping up those fantastic looking black rims.

Holden you have knocked one out of the park with the VF! nice work cobber ;)

    VF SS-V Redline
I purchased the first VF Redline sedan that arrived at the dealer in Hobart, so it is a fairly early build VF. Bottom line is I love it. I've been a Ford/Mazda man all my motoring life, but the VF Redline trumps anything I've owned before including a BA GT and a lovely Mazda 6 MPS. The car does have a few niggles, but compared to previous cars I have owned they aren't ones that take the joy out of the ownership experience. The first is the seat base can move a little (very little) under cornering and the wind seal on the drivers side is not perfect. Both I expect to get fixed sometime under warranty. As a software developer I can certainly tell you some of the software in the car is showing signs of being version one. That is to say it mostly works but can be buggy. One day when I went to start the car, it complained the steering column lock needed servicing and on another the front parking sensors got stuck on and wouldn't turn off, even after driving the car for a distance. It can also get confused about where your key is (in or out of the car). All problems were fixed with a reboot (turn car off and on) and haven't reoccured except for the key issue a couple of times. The MyLink has some quirks and I even saw one bug when rearranging the tiles on the screen. These things aren't that surprising given how much new tech is in the car and to be honest, I half expected it as its a big change from anything Holden have attempted before. Since these issues are minor and have nothing to do with the core engineering or drivetrain of the car, I'm hardly bothered by them. Certainly I've had much more serious issues on my Falcons in years past.

Coming from a Mazda 6 MPS before this, I give the Holden high praise for how it steers and how well presented the car is. This is undoubtably the best built Commodore we've ever had and most definitely feels like a car that costs much more then it did. I really enjoy driving the car and look forward to it. It did take me a while to get use to the noise the LS motors make. Had to listen to a couple of others before I was satisfied this is just the noises they make. Oh and the exhaust is way to quiet for a V8, but at this point I am nit picking.

The car is a seriously good drive and you can tell some engineers who knew what they were doing, worked on this car. It is a big step up from VE on many fronts and its a shame in a way that some will think of it as just a refresh of VE, because the engineering is more then a quick once over.

If you like driving, you will love the VF and the Redline in particular. I highly recommend it.

My VF is a calais V sportswagon V6 July 13 build with 14500k on the clock. Very happy with the car with the car and have experienced the following problems. 1. Pipe from the water reservoir to the wiper became disconnected. Fixed myself. 2. Mylink has hung once and rebooted twice and at times seems to go slow. I have not experienced any of the many problems members have with syncing with their phones as I do not use an iPhone or iPad. This is a known problem and documented in the handbook that iPhones are not fully supported. iPhone 5 seem to be Ok. 3. Occassional vibration while accelerating on mild throttle around 70-80kms.

The car has been driven in Sydney traffic and across long country NSW drives from freeways to rough dirt roads which have tested the suspension and under body design which has resulted in several scrapes underneath. It has proven how well designed and strong the VF but it could do with some extra ground clearance. I suppose it is all a compromise and the roads I have driven should really be driven with a VF with the country pack option. It has been a pleasure driving on roads that the crappy SUV's have been struggling and the real 4WD's have had no problem driving on but they have not enjoyed the car features of the VF. The softer suspension of the VF has helped in these conditions.

None of these issues are/were a major problem and I absolutely enjoy driving the car and are very happy with it. I love the technology in the car and happy with the finish and quality of the car and believe the functionality, quality and performance of the car equals cars twice the price.

Well done Holden and the engineers and staff who were involved in the VF. I will buy another if they are still around in 2016.

Redline manual, sedan. Just over 9000km.

Had a problem free run except for a dodgy error message that popped up twice and then vanished... something to do with left lamp position. Otherwise, as stated by almost everybody, the best car I have ever owned. You will not regret a purchase.

I have had my SSV Wagon now for almost 2 weeks and 1500kms. I absolutely love it.

Heron white, all chrome on front and fenders blacked out, it's the best car I have ever had and I have had a lot of cars.

Thinking of a 2.5 inch cat back and possibly lowering very slightly and powder coating wheels black, but otherwise it is awesome.

I thought that I would provide an update from our perspective.

Yesterday, we drove our VF to meet a relative to then head off on a country drive. The drive car was a very new Mercedes C250 turbo diesel.

When we got back in the VF at the end of the day, my wife said that she found the VF quieter, more comfortable and smoother on the below perfect road surfaces that we were driving on. I had thought so too, but until then had also thought that maybe I was biased. On our typical rural roads, we both felt a little off colour, due to the C250 suspension, in both the passenger and rear seats.

I am not saying the Merc was poor. In fact it was pretty impressive overall. However, we both preferred the VF on anything other than ultra-smooth bitumen. Even then, it was not better than the VF.

I expect that only very critical people would not love a VF.

Loving my VF SV6 sedan in Fantale, the colour just looks better and better to me each day. I have 20" dark carbon coloured rims on it and the stage 1 kit, black on orange looks awesome. I came from a BA XR6T and although I don't get that raw kick in the ass from a NA V6, it's a wonderfully refined engine. It's far more refined drive than the XR6T, better driving position and the 6 speed auto is great having dealt with a 4 speed auto slushbox on the XR6T.

No problems at all since delivery, goes like a dream. Getting 10.9L/100 out of it with a 50/50 mix of highway/city which makes me thankful I didn't go for the SS as I'd figure I'd be around 13.5-14.0 if i had have gone for the V8. Gets a lot of looks when I'm about town in it, although I think that's due to the colour more than anything, it sure does stand out in a carpark.

I have a love / hate relationship with my VF at the moment. Damn rattles are pissing me off. I found the trim on the driver's seat loose and discovered the bogans at Elizabeth had a go a forcing a screw one size too large into the captive nut as to which it had ripped out. Was an easy fix but not good nonetheless. Other thing I ask is people with VF's check your glovebox light. In the process of trying to eliminate a rattle, I removed the trim piece above the glovebox and could see the light still on with the glovebox closed! Once again disappointing, but an easy fix that should have not needed to be fixed!

Its all overwhelming about the Vfs atm. Don't be worried about the recalls and what not most cars go through some sort of defect. I personally LOVE my SV6 and have not had a single issue. Nicest care to drive and so worth the money.
