iv bought all my cars with my wn hard earned cash firsts was a vl berlina paid 2k for then had a vn calais i paid 1600 for then vp exec for 2200 then a vl wagon as a run about and now my vr calais

At 16 i bought my first car, VP Berlina LE $600, sold that at 17 for a grand. Bought second car VT Berlina on LPG $9000, traded that in a month ago (got 7 grand) for a brand new VE Berlina. (Loan for $40000). I think i've done pretty well for a 19yo.

To be 19 years old and $40k in debt, fark that! Especially on a Berlina who's value is gonna sink like a stone over the next 3 years.

Thats not doing well at all.

Seriously, you are gonna kick yourself when you realise how much that will set you back later on in life, unless you pay it off pretty quick.

i agree, pretty much anyone can get a loan for $40,000 these days so that's not a big deal plus the fact that $40,000 over 5-7 yrs @ what ever % interest adds up to allloootttt of $$$$$. then you have depreciation......

if you bought the car for $40,000 CASH @ 19yrs then you would have done well.....

100% agree. Earning it is doing well, borrowing on such a massively depreciating item with an appreciating cost isn't doing well. It's probably plain silly.

I Payed for eveything to do with my VZ wagon myself, worked for 3 years saving like crazy to afford it ($9-$11 p/h sucks!) Costs me $9900 for the car, $550 for rego and $580 for insurance, all payed for by me
