theres an extent to it, im not saying as a child ur suposed to earn wat you get, use ur head dumba** :hit: clearly i was stating for once you have a job / able to work

if you have nothing else better to do but to sit on a computer and voice ur opinoin against everyone elses why dont u go sit on a stick or something, make urself more useful and let ppl voice what they ahve to say widout having an a**hole just sit there and shut it down

Why don't you let ppl voice their opinions instead of just calling them a dumbarse?

when i was 16 my gran gave me her 1973 toyota corona, worked my ass off as a apprentice painter to get the money to fix it up and had some wicked times in it, then for some reason i brought a 04 vrx lancer brand new (close to 30 grand later... i think the sales man seen me coming lol) which i had fun with til driving a mate home late one night i fell asleep at the wheel and wrote off. so then i brought a hsv enhanced vr berlina and i couldnt be happier

What a well thought out and articulate reply!

Let me have a guess from your apparent intellectual level gleaned from your post - you are one of those people that have an inherent distaste for those that do better than you?

    Certainly sounds like it.

My parents are rich, they give me everything i need. Love, shelter when i need it, a lift to town sometimes, a warm meal and the knowledge that if i work hard enough i will get things i want. What more can a kid ask for. My first car was a $800 sigma which i spent heaps of coin making it look "cool" lol.

My parents always told me if I want something I have to earn and pay for it myself.

My 1st car back in 1991 was a 1973 Ford Escort (1.3L Mower Engine). I paid like $2000 at the time and I had to pay for it myself (well pay it off off a loan anyway).

My parents have never been well off and I suppose that is the reason.

7 months ago bought my self a toyoda lexcen for $700 with 6 months reg, went and got a rwc all needed was 2 rear tires, this thing has no rust and is very straight for its age ('89) - got rw check, all needed was rear tires, then engine seized. put new engine in and took it in after doing the tires and didn't tell 'em about engine swap cause i thought I'll get the run around, still haven't updated numbers to this day.

car has been on rear bump stops and has a mini spool the day after the rwc but never ever got pulled over, and been through rbt's etc. maybe if i get tinted windows they'll start pulling me over haha

this is far from my first car

me and the ol man went halvies in a 4 thousand dollar car ... ford ed fairmont, first car that i got that had reg, after putting a spool in the girl, it was taken to winton race track where i gave the brakes a little too much hell and the lines expanded, had spongy brakes for months then one day the brakes went to the floor as i approached a roundabout, precise reaction and i was yanking the handbrake (that barely worked), was on the handbrake all the way home for 50k's, i was such a devil

the list goes on and on...and on!!

Got my first car, a Nov 1995 VS Exec with 135,00kms on it back in 2002, i was 18 and paid $10,000 cash for it.

I sold it 2 months ago after doing 127,000kms in 5 years, never had a major problem with it. I hope the thunder is as reliable.

I was in a headon (front passenger) with a Mack Truck * in Oct '08 and the car looked somewhat similar. I got a shattered Vertebrae L3 from the seatbelt - due to the sheer deacceleration. Was in hospital for months.
I'm still hobbiling around on cold days with a sore back.

How'd you get out of that scott' free, ryno_vrx?

*Driver was female, and turned into incomming traffic on the otherside of the road. Unknown reason to this date. I copped it my side.

Well for me it was dad paid for it ($2000) and I pay him back, as I didn't have a really good wage at the time. So I gave him $50 a week repayments whilst putting little bits away each week to repair the car as I was learning.

So to answer the OP's question... Dad paid for mine. And I paid him back.

unlike half the spoilt little pricks gettin about now I worked and EARNT the money for my first car. Sorry I find it hard to have any sort of respect in that scenario for people that get their wheels given to them. weak.

I was supposed to get my uncles VS exec but a week before I got my licence he backed it into one of those really thick concrete pole things and it was written off, so instead,

I paid, what worked out to be about 1/4 of my car and my dad paid for the rest as my 18th b'day presnt and that years chrissy present :p

n im still on my first car which is the vt calais
