Your bad experience has highlighted some of the forum comments recently about seemingly small degrees of damage resulting in controversy about what is, or is not a write-off.

Exhorbitant cost of parts and labour = write off today that wouldn't have been years ago.

It used to be that if someone had written of a vehicle, they had made a hige mess of it....today,not so much.

This problem just has me scratching my head
I realise that but I just changed my gearbox and the starter motor is hitting on something and I'm trying to work it out so I don't miss a fourth day of work stumped

I'm old too lol but I'm still getting under cars thinking I'm still 25 I understand most things about holdens

I understand that but you are still posting in a totally different thread that is not relevant to your issue.

I'm deleting these. Please post in your own thread regarding that subject.

Wow...joins the forum in the early hours...serves it up to established members by breakfast..

Then wonders why people aren't falling over themselves to help..

Big deal worked it out anyway

Well that's not exactly true is it. @immortality gave you advice about using a shim..

The shim moves the starter away from the flex plate.

Shim looks like this

And is fitted something like this,

Anyhow, I think most of us are struggling to work out why you've jumped on board today with an immediate attitude problem? We're actually a pretty friendly bunch and there is zero need for the abrasiveness you've brought with you.

If you want help, try going about it a different way. Simples

don't really need your opinion

Then perhaps a public online forum isn't the place for you

when I asked first couple of questions like am I posting the right way

Which in fact, I helped you with (in regards to quoting) , but it was deleted because it was off-topic.

Anyhow carry on, clearly I'm wasting my time here.

Sorry @immortality, posted at the same time as your last one. I'm done - back on topic.
