What is going on out there ??????

Went to a Mason Gray & Strange Estate Auction today and this went under the hammer. Believe me it's not all it's cracked up to be as it was announced as a 82,000Km car and some of us know a bit more about this one as it was recently touted around at over 4K on Gumtree and then pulled without a sale taking place.
The photos certainly make it look much better than it really is as the paint work is rather well faded over the top surfaces as most Heather Mist cars are, the interior has severe fading in the rear and the overall state of the car is not well presented. It has many scrapes and dings displayed.

You be the judge...........what's it worth ????

SS Commodore - Ford Territory ... both camps
I think $1k is a bit of a low ball... history shows the bottom dollar for Commodores usually happens at around the 12-15-year mark. Then they start to thin out and become quite rare -low mileage ones especially. VS's are now well over 20 years old and I reckon $2-4k is a fair value for this, especially with its original interior.

Given your comments @vs-lover , it is obvious it sold for more than what we would think is a reasonable price.

However, I have cheated so will simply say....too much.

The VT clubby rims went cheap though.

Hi all,

I have to agree with "Brettly-2008" that the VS is slowly coming out of the bottoming cycle and that batten has now been passed on to the VT. This particular vehicle has just had 3 months rego put on it for the sale with the only two options fitted being the Automatic Transmission and Air Conditioning, which just about every customer was easily talked into when buying a new car in the mid 1990's.

Well I guess everyone's wondering how much it went for so here it is,.......... it went for $4,800 + Fees, that makes it $5,550 all up.

Now that's a huge surprise to me, but I've been saying to many folks for a while that these good examples will start climbing out of the doldrums shortly.

Maybe there's hope that I'll get $2500 for my Turtle topped VS Acclaim wagon that I bought as an engine donor from Pickles at $400 LOL !

The pessimist in me says that this is not the last time we'll see this vehicle up for sale in the near future.
