Cheap or metal type pads I used to rough them up on concrete if 36-80 grit sandpaper trick didn't work.

My parts guy very good mate said he has had very good results with these ones.
C plus, ceramic pads.
Synergy
Ultra quiet, low dust ceramic formula

See if you can get a anti-rattle shim for it.

I can't remember the proper name, but it looks like a thin metal gasket. It's meant to help take out noise and squealing

The rear brembos on Vf2 needs the shims otherwise the squeal. It was a technical bulletin.

When of first replace the front with a bendix without counter weight it squealed a lot. I tried to re grease it but no luck. I complained and bendix send me the new model with the counter weights and they never squeal again.

We're they smelly ?
Not that I noticed. But I wasn't checking.

Mate said the new pads don't need breaking in. But did anyway just in case.

On an update though, after 400km across the country - through hills and past mountains etc - I think (fingers crossed) that they may have shut up.

Still planning on a fluid flush and bleed while the wife is off of work though.

I've got a set for this car. But last pads made no difference on or off. And new pads had some so were not keen on double stacking shims.

I'm a big fan of the hella pagid brake grease. Have never had a squeal with it. I basically lube everything aside the pad face after its been cleaned up good enough to eat off. Just did a mates redline Brembo's using DBA XP pads and got rid of his OEM squealing
