I went to unlock my VT with the remote and bugger me, my Daughter's friend's VT that was
parked close to mine, unlocked remotely as well.
Both unlocked and locked together every time I did it.
The key did not open the door though.
One in a million or what!!!

Probably for the same reason some garage door remotes change the station on other peoples tv's nearby, or vica versa etc
Not enough distance between the codes used, not enough codes available.
Happens a lot.
Have also had instances where keys open and start other cars as well.

This happened to a guy at work . He had vs statesman and another guy had a vs wagon and they had to park at opposite ends of the car park as their remotes would lock and unlock each other's cars. Another mate has a Dodge nitro and his alarm randomly went off . He discovered by accident that when his neighbors friend came to visit his remote would activate his alarm .
