    No............

If Holden should think of doing something, they should do what ford done years ago and build a nice turbo 6.

GM's policy is to use the same floor pans and motors wherever possible to save money. It would be pretty stupid of GM to pour money into Holden to develop another V8 when a perfectly capable one already exists. It's the same reason VE's are exported to other countries.

Holden as a brand exists, but not as a developer. The VE floor pan is a GM floor pan, not a Holden floor pan. LS1 is a GM motor, not a Chev motor (but for some stupid reason this is apparently open to debate).

It's the same reason Buick 6's were used instead of Holden designing their own.

Wouldn't even make that with a Yella Terra super charger bolted to the top....

Surely you would get 250rwkw out of a 5L with a blower?

They are not the most powerful thing in the world but a charger would get them up there?

I mean, the v6 boys can see upyo 300rwkw once FI is involved.

If u can't make 300rwkw with a blower on a 304 your doing something wrong.

Although numbers are just that, numbers. The amount of 250-270rwkw ls1's I've seen run 100-105mph is ridiculous.

There were a few of the 5L guys in the Vic chapter a few years back who had blowers. Both of them were running Mafless tune and exhaust LS1 numbers if that.

    just a side note.
if your planning a conversion into a vs era car.
5L would be more straightforward as it was originally an option, whereas the ls1 wasnt and requires a few parts.
and would most likely cost alot less to do.

it all depends on which you personally prefer.
me. i prefer the 5L for the sound, and because it was found in that era = easy swap
however having been in a car with a LS1 that was supercharged/cammed/everything else, that was amazing, sitting there shaking like an old muscle/sound amazing then be able to pull away like it could.

if your doing a swap first set a budget, and go from that to see what you can do.

The pinnacle of the 304 was probably the factory 355 strokers released in VR/VS GTS, man they were one cool bit of gear.
They were 215kw (at the flywheel im guessing) with 475nm of torque.
I dont remember what the VS GTS-R was rated at.

I will be able to tell you the difference a 355 kit with the blower mentioned in a few days time.

A mate of mine had 220-240rwkw on a blown 304 not long ago, he has since removed the engine and stroked it, new computer, head work, rebuilt Yella Terra charger and has blown just over 12 grand without a dyno run yet.

It was being wired up this afternoon and is getting trailered down to Sydney on Monday for its dyno tune and timing ect... He wants to get about 330-350 rwkw... I'll keep you posted on the results

Torque on a chassis dyno isnt that accurate. Too many variable can effect it...

Only way to find out ft-lb is on an engine dyno.
