It is a weird one, if you consider during the NASCAR sprint cup seasons 2013 to 2017 this infamous Australian vehicle shape was on the television screens of millions of Americans every weekend throughout the year and so few vehicles sold in the states.

Oh well, Trump is their president so I guess it shouldn't surprise me.

.............. so few vehicles sold in the states.

..............

simple.. GM deliberately restricted supply to the USA of these
(plus Caprices destined for police forces)

why..? so as to not upset normal Yanks (yeah... the patriotic God bless America ones)
plus the politicians (remember... the Feds baled out GM in the GFC) as well as the
car unions coz the cars were not made in the Yew Hess of Hay o_O

All that while there was a Free Trade Agreement with the Yanks:rolleyes:

Agreed.
However ... hasn’t this been posted around here before?
He’s obviously not done any research, he’s kinda missed the whole dodging-the-unions thing ...

Yep.
The VF looks like a Malibu with a V8 in it to the yanks. Too plain. They like the big tough 'American' muscle look.

Why it failed ? it failed because of the same reason the ZB might , it came from a foreign source. It is a good car , as is the ZB , the yanks just did not like it .

He's right on the cost thing, everything is "artificially cheap" in the USA (eg. they sell cars at a loss and only profit on finance & service) so when something (especially something with only a Chev badge) comes along at an appropriate cost they're horrified.

No heritage in the US market. Only old people buy V8's now and they only buy cars they wanted to own when they were younger. Mustang, Camaro, Charger, Challenger.... We bought Commodores because they were an Aussie throwback, means nothing to US, its true it looks like a big Malibu to them which are universally despised.
