I've got 19 x 8.5 wheels with 45 offset on my 2011 SS. I'm looking at a new set of wheels that are 19 x 9.5 wide. Has anyone got 9.5s on their VE & noticed if they rub outside or inside wheel rim or arch?

Firstly VE HSVs run 20x9.5 56P on the rear. They fit really easily too.

I've seen 20x10s 45P all round on a VE too. Personally I think 10.5s will fit way too and I think so of the Pontiac guys have 11s under there cars with just a slight gaurd roll

Thx ducker, I thought so but the tyre shop said rubbing would be the issue on the front.

No worrys mate. I have 20x9.5s on the front of mine ATM. There was a thread last month on here(I think) where a member got 20x10s with 245 tyres fitted, 45P offset and it cleard all round and may just need a rear guard roll if lower or 275s fitted but it can be done easily.

It is impossible to accurately advise if you will have rubbing issues F and/or R with the 9 x 9.5 wheels you are looking at unless you indicate:

1. The offset of the new 9.5 wheel you are considering (is it +30 or +35 or +40 or +45 etc) and
2. The size tyres you intend fitting front and rear to that wheel

For example :

- FRONT: If you run a 9.5 x19 wheel with +35mm offset on the FRONT with a 255 40 19 tyre you will not have a rubbing issue up front.

- REAR: On the REAR 9.5 x 19 wheel you would typically run a 275 35 19 tyre but with a 35mm offset wheel I can guarantee that with sufficient suspension movement the tyre will foul the inside guard lip (and you would need to roll the guard lips to clear the face of the tyre.

I suggest you check with the retailer on the wheel offset for the new wheels and advise the tyre sizes you intend fitting and you will get a much better indication from people here as to whether you will have any issues.

He has and the tyre shop said 9.5s will rub and that's why he posted here. I stated HSV wheel specs and a link to what offset/tyre are needed for 10s to fit safely

I have put a set of Maloo wheels 19" x 8" front and 19" x 9.5" rear on my sedan 245 and 275 tyres with no problems. Not sure off the offsets. They are rather heavy wheels tho
