wiered lock and padlock in my vn

Hi,
Ive got a silver lock sitting inside on the front of the certre console, but i don't have a key, also i've got a padlock just under the plastic from the dash where you left foot would sit when you're driving, again with no key. Anyone no what these are for??? they have obviously been added but not sure y???

the padlock is probably for a chain to the stearing wheel or brake pedal

if there's a lock in the front of the centre console, i'd unscrew the centre console and see whats' behind it. don't wanna mess with it if it's an immobiliser

was prolly a home made security device, i heard of people putting big padlock on the shifter of vl's so it can't be taken out of park, could be something similar

Could be but its got full alarm and immobiliser so wouldn't be neccisary. anyway i will upload a couople of pics asap
